Satanists, The Bubonic Plague and The Spirit of Life
[A] number of years ago I was working in the city at a Salvation Army drop in centre. A couple came in and we started chatting about the black upside down cross they both wore around their necks. These two people were Satanists, and I was curious, so I took them out for a coffee. As we spoke they began telling me their stories of the power of darkness. They were saying how scary the Devil is and I think they were trying to intimidate me with the way they spoke about their powers to curse and what not.I shared with them that if the Devil was right in front of me, all I would need to do is say, "In Jesus name GO!" and he would be obligated to obey me. I explained that when we turn on a light the darkness always loses. The darkness CANNOT over power the light. We agreed to disagree and they left... The next day they burst into the drop in centre and exclaimed, "James, you convinced us! We want to convert!"As a born again believer you are full of life and power. The power that runs through your veins is so powerful that death cannot overcome it. Greater is He that is in ME, than he that is in the world! Death, Darkness and the Devil are no match for resurrection life!There was a man named John G Lake. He was a great healing evangelist. During the bubonic plague countless people were perishing. John and a friend of his buried many of those who had died from this horrible and contagious disease. When doctors saw that these men were working this way they were disturbed that they wore no protective equipment. They were perplexed and asked them how it was that they were not contracting this disease. John simply replied, "Brother that is the 'law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus."Haha! But it gets better! I'll quote directly from John G Lake's account of how the rest of the conversation went with this doctor,
"I think that you would like to experiment with me. If you will go over to one of these dead people and take the foam that comes out of their lungs after death, then put it under the microscope you will see masses of living germs. You will find they are alive until a reasonable time after a man is dead. You can fill my hand with them and I will keep it under the microscope, and instead of these germs remaining alive, they will die instantly." They tried it and found it was true. They questioned, "What is that?" I replied, "That is 'the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.' When a man's spirit and a man's body are filled with the blessed presence of God, it oozes out of the pores of your flesh and kills the germs."
How amazing is that? The life inside of you is far greater than any form of death or darkness you may face, and far more powerful any devil that tries to manipulate you. This life is in every believer. The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead now lives in you.
"He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." - 1 John 4:4
