Ministry Update
I’ve been involved in a lot of great ministry over the last couple of months and so I thought I would share a few of the highlights to praise God and hopefully encourage you. I can’t help but sense that “The Church” in Victoria (and Australia) was heavily pruned throughout the last couple of years of lockdowns, but now a fruitful harvest is coming. I’m seeing God move in some powerful ways and I am sure this is just the start of something special.
Jesus gave His disciples authority to drive out demons and to heal every manner of sickness and disease. (Matt 10:1)
Healing
I’ve seen God heal a range of muscular and skeletal issues from legs, ankles, backs, shoulders, wrists and necks. I’ve also seen some movement against cancer including a man who had lots of stomach pain from chemotherapy not having any pain since we prayed. At one youth camp where I led a workshop, we saw over 20 people get healed. Exciting!
Deliverance
In terms of deliverance I’m seeing more than I have for quite some time. I’m seeing people get freed from all matter of darkness including freedom from spirits that are keeping them injured, making them sad and depressed, causing them to contemplate killing themselves, and giving them nightmares. I love seeing people go from darkness and depression to light and joy.
Prophecy
In our household prophecy, or hearing from God, is so commonplace we often forget to testify about it. However, hearing the voice of God has led to some great ministry times in both our house, in shopping centres and in Church meetings. This has led to powerful God encounters, deliverance, and healing. It is amazing to see how one word from God can have a profound impact on someone’s journey.
Some of my favourite ones have included very specific words of knowledge. We’ve seen God share accurate information about both past and present experiences that are causing immense pain and grief, and seen God breathe life and purpose into these people as they realise God sees them and is for them.
Other Holy Spirit Manifestations
John Wimber said that we are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, rather we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. It is only natural that when we have a spiritual experience it manifests in the physical.
We’ve seen a whole lot of people get touched by Holy Spirit and fall to the ground. Often these people will experience an overwhelming sense of peace. I’ve seen numerous people receiving profound visions, seeing angelic activity and hearing God speak to them as they fall to the ground, or as people pray for them. We’re seeing people get baptised in the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues and experience other gifts of the Holy Spirit.
One manifestation I have been experiencing recently has been feeling wind in my hands. In one meeting I felt the wind so strongly and was reminded of Hebrews 1:7 that “God makes His angels winds and His servants flames of fire.” I took this to mean there was angelic activity in the room and that God wanted to set some evangelists on fire. I asked the group that if anyone was feeling wind like this to come forward and a group responded straight away. I prayed a simple prayer that they would be set on fire to share the gospel and as I gently touched them they all hit the ground, one even violently shaking.
Moving Forward
I believe that everything I have written above is actually just an expression of the normal Christian life. Jesus said that all these things would follow those who believe. (Mark 16:15-20) The stories mentioned above are just some of what I personally have been involved in, but if I were to add what my friends have been seeing there would be plenty more!
So this is my encouragement to you… The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Revelation 19:10) What we testify about is actually a prophecy of what God will do again. Use these stories as an invitation for you to step into.
I believe that we are heading into a summer of salvation! And I believe that if we want to see that become a reality we will need to be empowered by the love and power of Holy Spirit, and that we will need to operate in the gifts of the Spirit. Are you ready?
Finally, thank you for reading along! Let me know if the above is something you’d love to step into but need a bit of a hand. I’d love to help. (And if you’d like to know how your Church or lifegroup could step into this, check out my “Greater Things” workshops here.)
Grace to you all!
